Briar here.

Everyone woke up early at the lake house. Mom was very tired and her feet were swollen. She kept talking about that being my fault, too. But, she didn’t let it keep her down. Dad had to tie her tennis shoes that morning, so that was kinda funny. We all decided to go to Silver Dollar City for the day. Dad kept talking to everyone about eating succotash for lunch. And, he was super excited about roller coasters. Mom is a wimp when it comes to rides, but she was excited to shop around and have a drink of cider. Everyone was in a great mood. Around the time that Dad should have been getting in line for his succotash, Mom started feeling bad. They decided to go to the hospital to get me checked out because they were worried. Dad had no idea that they were about to get on the scariest roller coaster ever. Mom wasn’t game for it, but she didn’t have much of a choice. By the end of that day, Mom was transferred to a hospital in Springfield, MO. And, they had been told that I might come earlier than February. All of our friends and family at home were huge helps. They stepped in to help Dad out as much as possible. And, today was the day that I really started feeling everyone praying for me.

I’m a wife. I’m a teacher. Most importantly, I’m a child of God who is constantly trying to make sense of the journey He has me on. I’m in awe of the beauty that has come from the mess.
